Launching a New Business Vertical

The objective was clear yet ambitious: to launch Code Wizards, a new branch of the company focused on the B2B sector for developing advanced web applications and bespoke management tools. The primary target consisted of CEOs and teams at mid-to-large enterprises seeking solutions for management issues and productivity control.

The main KPI was the capture of qualified leads through a direct meeting with the CEO via Calendly. Despite the technical nature of the service, the primary challenge was finding a visual identity that communicated technological complexity in an accessible way for tech executives.

Visual Concept: From “Epic Fantasy” to “Close-up Magic”

Initially, my conceptual proposal leaned towards an “Epic Fantasy” aesthetic (Dungeons & Dragons style), seeking to convey creativity, cinematography, and a grand scale. However, following the strategic definition meetings, the direction pivoted towards “Close-up Magic”.

The Challenge:

How to translate a concept often associated with traditional or “intimate” performance into a modern, attractive digital language for tech executives.

The Solution:

I reinterpreted “Close-up Magic” as “Invisible Engineering.” The idea was that the client didn’t need to see the complex intricacies of the code (the tricks behind the curtain), but rather simply enjoy the final result.

Color Palette: Deep dark tones combined with neon greens and purples, fusing the mystery of magic with the visual stereotype of advanced technology.

Typography: A blend of command console fonts (alluding to programming) with modern, readable typefaces. Visual Assets: Introduction of subtle pixelated elements to pay homage to “gamer” roots without falling into cliché, alongside chips, floating orbs, and light effects (glows) to guide user attention.

Design & UX Process: Flexibility Amidst Change

Given my previous experience with landing pages and to optimize delivery times, I adopted a Text-Based Wireframing (Lo-Fi) approach to quickly jump into high-fidelity prototyping. This agile methodology was crucial, as content and structure requirements were subject to continuous iteration throughout the process.

Brand & Logo Design: I developed the logo for Code Wizards seeking a balance between modernity and dynamism. I ran multiple iterations until I successfully fused the “web development” identity with the magical metaphor, ensuring it worked both on screen and across various digital formats.

Information Architecture: One of the biggest UX challenges on this project was structuring a very dense and verbose amount of information. The business directive established a specific content approach focused on “Pain Points” and concepts like “Extreme Co-creation.”

While my professional recommendation would have been a more streamlined structure focused on social proof (clear processes and success stories), I designed a robust visual hierarchy system. I utilized cards, strategic whitespace, and scalable typography to ensure that extensive texts remained digestible and did not overwhelm the user, maintaining design scalability despite the heavy text load.

Front-end Development: Total Control of the Experience

As a Senior UI/UX, I don’t just design interfaces; I understand the importance of how they are built. I personally handled the complete frontend implementation (HTML, JS, CSS) to ensure the “magical touch” of the design wasn’t lost in translation to code.

Technical Highlights:

CSS Architecture: I built a scalable architecture allowing for rapid style changes without breaking the layout (vital in an environment of shifting requirements). Interactions in Hero Section: I created immersive interactions for both mobile and desktop. Users can “simulate” wand movements by dragging their finger or holding down an orb to charge a “spell.” These micro-interactions aren’t just decorative; they enhance engagement and reinforce the brand metaphor in a memorable way.

Performance: I ensured that, despite the visual effects and assets, web load times remained optimal.

Lessons Learned: Executing Excellence Under Constraints

This project was an exercise in resilience and adaptability. Sometimes, as designers, we must take the stakeholder’s vision (even when it differs from our data-driven recommendation) and execute it at the highest possible level.

We managed to capture 2 qualified projects in the first 6 months, which validates that, while the content strategy was risky, the technical and visual execution fulfilled its function of conveying professionalism and capturing interest.

Key Takeaway:

The value of a designer lies not only in proposing the ideal UX solution but also in possessing the technical and human capacity to build the best possible version of the solution the client decides upon, ensuring the final quality of the digital product remains unbreakable.
