Summer Campaign for a Hotel Chain
Context & Problem
The client was a hotel chain looking for a summer promotion landing page. They had no existing page for the campaign, so this was a pure build from scratch. I worked as the sole Product Designer on a one-week sprint alongside SEO and development teams.
The target audience was families and couples looking for summer holiday options. The main constraint was time: just 7 days from concept to launch.
Process & Decisions
I started with competitor research, looking at similar hotels and their summer campaigns. Most competitors went with dark, sober landings focused on a few elegant photos that didn’t communicate much. That felt like an opportunity to go the other way.
I chose a bright, Mediterranean-inspired palette with vivid colors. The goal was to make summer the hero of the page, not just the hotel rooms. I paired that with clear, concise copy highlighting key hotel features, so visitors could quickly understand what made the place special without digging through paragraphs.
I skipped relying on complex image compositions from the client’s photography library. Those assets can change, and we didn’t have time to coordinate with the photographer for specific shots. Instead I leaned on external assets and illustrations to build the visual story.
I wireframed the structure first and validated it with the SEO team so they could handle content strategy with the client while I worked on the look and feel. I checked in with developers at each step to make sure the sections would be easy to implement, especially the responsive version using their existing framework.
Craft & Execution
The thing I’m most proud of is the overall visual cohesion. The color palette, the art direction, the use of external assets, everything works together to sell that paradise feel without relying on generic stock photography.
For motion and interaction I prototyped in Figma and built some animations as CodePen snippets for the dev team to integrate.
I used a basic atomic design approach to keep the UI consistent and easy to scale within the tight deadline.
Results & Impact
The client was very happy with the result. While we don’t have conversion metrics available, the relationship continued beyond this project, and they kept working with us for future campaigns. For a one-week sprint with a new client, that says enough.
